Do you know anyone who could benefit from sealing or expunging a criminal record or getting off the sex offender registry? As you know it can be very difficult to get a job, housing, or other services for people who have a prior criminal record. The Colorado Criminal Defense Institute & Office of the Colorado State Public Defender are offering free legal clinics to provide assistance to former offenders who need relief from the negative impacts of a criminal arrest or conviction.
The Denver Clinic is on Saturday, February 27th from 10am – 2pm at the Public Defender’s Office: 1560 Broadway, Suite 300, Denver, CO. 80202
Eligible cases must be from Colorado and include: sealing of arrest or conviction records, requests for juvenile expungement, petitions for sex offender de-registration (both juveniles and adults), and judicial orders of collateral relief.
No appointments are necessary. All clinics will be walk-in, staffed by legal assistants and volunteers who will conduct the initial screening with follow up assignment to a pro bono attorney. Any person can attend any clinic. At our first five clinics we have helped over 550 people.
